Tennessee is the site of four National Military Parks: Chickamauga-Chattanooga, Stones River, Shiloh, and Fort Donelson. The Chickamauga-Chattanooga Park covers 9,000 acres and a 7-mile self-guided auto tour. Within the park are monuments illustrating the famous battle that took place in 1863, hiking and horse trails, and picnic facilities. The visitor center features several multi-media programs depicting the history and importance of this battle. The Stones River National Battlefield and Cemetery consists of 709 acres. Established in 1865, it is the site of over 6,000 Union soldier graves. The battle at Stones River took more than 23,000 lives, which makes it one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War. Nashville's Grand Ole Opry is the longest, continuously running live radio show in the world. The Opry opened in 1925 and has entertained millions with the music of Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and the Oak Ridge Boys. Memphis is the birthplace of the Blues and the King, Elvis Presley.
