A recent article in the Nashville Business Journal reported that were 3,236 homes sold in the month compared to 3,130 in April a year ago. And the sales picture looks bright for May, as well. There were 3,458 sales pending at the end of the month compared to 3,623 last year. Home sales in the greater Nashville area rose 3.3 percent in April compared to the same month a year ago.

Several notable post-secondary schools are in the immediate area surrounding Franklin. Vanderbilt University, a private educational institution founded in 1873, consists of ten schools: four undergraduate and six graduate schools.
