Demographics
Located in Williamson County, Brentwood features restored plantation homes from the Civil War to new homes built in the 21st century. Professionals and executives find Brentwood a very desirable location to purchase real estate. Only 11 miles from Nashville and 12 miles from Nashville International Airport, Brentwood?s location provides an easy commute to the numerous Nashville amenities.

Education
Within a 30-minute drive from Brentwood are several nationally ranked colleges and universities. Vanderbilt University, a private educational institution founded in 1873, consists of ten schools: four undergraduate and six graduate schools. The US News & World Report magazine ranked the Vanderbilt University Medical Center on the Honor Roll of the Nation?s Best Hospitals. The medical center earns distinction with its medical education, patient care, and superior research techniques.

Other notable colleges and universities in the Nashville area are Belmont University, Fisk University, Nashville State Community College, and Tennessee State University.

Brentwood youngsters attend the Williamson County School System, which ranked among the top 100 school systems in the nation by Money magazine. Brentwood High School students score above the state and national average on standardized examinations. Five elementary, two middle, and two high schools comprise the Brentwood City School District.

Art and Culture
Brentwood residents enjoy the cultural diversions offered in Nashville. The Tennessee Performing Arts Center offers world-class entertainment year round. The Center is located in the James K. Polk Cultural Center, which features four unique performance theaters. The Tennessee Repertory Theater, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, the Nashville Opera, and the Nashville Ballet are the resident groups of the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

The Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame are also popular entertainment venues for Brentwood residents and visitors.

Recreation and Sports
The Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department manages soccer clubs; youth baseball, softball, and football leagues, and cheerleading leagues for the resident youngsters. Crockett Park offers 7 lighted tennis courts, 8 lighted ball fields, and 11 multi-purpose fields on 170 acres. Park visitors enjoy the bike/pedestrian trail, an amphitheater, a playground, picnic shelters, and two historic homes.

The Deerwood Arboretum and Nature Area feature an outdoor classroom, an observation deck, an amphitheater, nature trails, frontage on the Harpeth River, and wildflower meadows. Granny White Park consists of 32 acres of green space, pedestrian trails, ball fields, sand volleyball courts, lighted tennis courts, and a playground.

Brentwood sports lovers enjoy the competitive atmosphere provided by the NHL?s Nashville Predators and the NFL?s Tennessee Titans. The Coliseum, located on the east bank of the Cumberland River across from downtown Nashville, is the playing venue of the Titans and offers 67,000 spectator seats.
