Almost 2,500 people call Newtown home. It was first settled in 1684 and temporarily served as the seat of government for Bucks County (from 1725 to 1813). Newtown was incorporated as a borough in 1838 and has been expanded four times since. Today the town still contains fine examples of many American architectural styles and is considered one of Bucks County's preeminent historical communities.
