Our Boston, Massachusetts real estate guide features the premier model homes of Boston and its suburbs. Our Boston real estate specialists will help you locate the new homes and new home communities that best fit the requirements you specify. Using a Buyer?s Agent assures that you, the Boston home buyer, is represented from start to finish.

Demographics

Home to almost 600,000 people, the city of Boston is often called ?The Cradle of Liberty? due to its prominent role in the Revolutionary War. The city is famous for many reasons: It is the state Capital of Massachusetts, the largest city in New England, and the Boston Tea Party is probably the single most important event leading up to the American revolution. Boston has always been the busiest trade center in the Northeast; the local economy thrives on railway, airline, interstate highway, and oceangoing traffic of all varieties.

Education

There are 84 elementary schools, 23 middle schools, 15 high schools, and nine special educational centers in Boston. Those looking to pursue a higher education have a huge variety of excellent colleges and universities to choose from here, but Boston University, Northeastern University, and the University of Massachusetts ? Boston are probably the most prominent. There are a host of specialized institutions as well: The New England School of Law, the New England Conservatory of Music, and the Boston Architectural Center all serve students looking to enter specific fields.

Recreation and Sports

Boston residents have access to finest in professional sports, including the NFL?s New England Patriots and the NBA?s Boston Celtics. Hockey is especially popular here, so the Boston Bruins sell out almost every game at TD Banknorth Garden. But the most beloved professional sports team in Boston has to be the Boston Red Sox, who have played games at the world-famous Fenway Park since 1912. There are a wide variety of other local sports teams here too, including the New England Revolution (soccer) and the Massachusetts Mutiny (arena football).

For outdoorsmen, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area and Wompatuck State Park both offer hiking and sightseeing. Harold Parker State Forest has camping as well, and there is fishing and boating in Dorchester Bay, Quincy Bay, and Lynn Harbor.

Arts and Culture

History is alive in Boston, perhaps more so than in any other American city. The Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum gives visitors a unique look at the start of the Revolutionary War, while The Old North Church ? built in 1723 ? is Boston?s oldest church building and the place from which Paul Revere was signaled to begin his famous ride. The Paul Revere Memorial Association also maintains the Paul Revere House on North Street, which presents living history performances, concerts, and craft demonstrations.

There is more than just history in Boston, too; the city literally has too many cultural attractions to name them all. Among the most prominent is the Museum of Fine Arts, which has a huge variety of art exhibits and offers a summer concert series that is not to be missed. The Boston Center for the Arts is a visual and performing arts complex that includes the historic Cyclorama and two resident theatre companies. And the Charles Hayden Planetarium has sky shows throughout the year, offering residents an astronomy experience that is truly first-rate.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Boston is a big, busy city that offers its residents many exciting places to drink and dine. Boston Beer Works and Thornton?s Fenway Grill are popular places near Fenway Park; both are popular for their relaxed atmospheres and varied menus. The Federalist is known as one of the most romantic restaurants in Boston and has an excellent wine list. And of course there is the world-famous Cheers in Beacon Hill, a must-see for residents and visitors alike.

For shopping, the Cambridgeside Galleria is a popular choice; Brookstone, Best Buy, The Gap, Soundworks, and Banana Republic are just a few of the stores offered at this eclectic shopping center. South Shore Plaza is one of the state?s biggest malls, where area residents can browse through Macy?s and stop for a Burger at Johnny Rockets. The Plaza is also a busy hangout for teenagers and young adults, who come for the movies and food court.
