Our Palm Coast, Florida real estate guide features the premier model homes of Palm Coast and the entire Flagler County area. Our exclusive Buyer?s Agents are ready to help you locate the new homes for sale in Palm Coast that best meet your needs and desires. Using a Buyer?s Agent assures that you, the Palm Coast home buyer, is represented from start to finish.

Demographics

Incorporated as a city in 1999, Palm Coast is home to about 60,000 people. The city is located in Flagler County, Florida, and lies approximately equidistant from Jacksonville and Orlando. It is the center of the rapidly-growing Palm Coast Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has nearly doubled its population since 2000.

Like much of Florida, tourism is big business throughout the Palm Coast region. However, local commercial and industrial parks house more than 30 mid-to-large size businesses; the largest is Palm Coast Data, which employs over 1,000 people. The University of Florida's Bureau of Economic and Business Research reports that Flagler County will see the largest job growth in Florida until at least 2010, a factor that only adds to the area?s attractiveness.

Education

Palm Coast is served by Flagler County Public Schools, which operates five elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. There is also one special education center, an adult education program, and a technical school. Private educational institutions are available as well.

Area residents seeking a higher education have quick access to Bethune Cookman College, Daytona Beach Community College, and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, all just 23 miles away in Daytona Beach. Those willing to travel a bit further can attend Stetson University in Deland (37 miles) or the University of North Florida in Jacksonville (55 miles). Finally, the world-renowned University of Florida ? home to top-notch undergraduate programs and the 2007 BCS Champion Florida Gators ? is less than half a day?s drive away in Gainesville.

Recreation and Sports

Palm Coast, with more than 280 sunny days per year, offers residents a huge variety of recreational activities. There is swimming, sunbathing, surfing, biking, and boating all along the beautiful Atlantic Coast. Parks such as Ocala National Forest, Ravine Gardens State Park, and Tomoka State park have camping, hiking, and sightseeing, and all of North Florida is an excellent place to fish and hunt.

For sports enthusiasts, Palm Coast is close to both Jacksonville and Orlando. Jacksonville has the Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL) as well as the Jacksonville Suns (Southern League baseball) and the Jacksonville Barracudas (SPHL). Orlando offers the Orlando Magic (NBA) and the Orlando Predators (AFL). Finally, the University of Florida Gators (2007 champs in both football and basketball) play in Gainesville, which is about three hours away by car.

Arts and Culture

For those who enjoy culture, Palm Coast is less than an hour away from St. Augustine, one of America?s most historic places. Founded in 1565, it is the oldest city in the US and home to many museums that record the Spanish, English, and American history of the region. And science enthusiasts will love the Kennedy Space Center, which is about two hours south of Palm Coast and offers the best space-related tourism in the world.

Palm Coast itself is home to the Flagler Symphonic Society, an organization that presents many symphonies at a variety of locations across the city. Arte de Palm, a gallery in the European Village Resort, gives residents access to exquisite works by local, national, and internationally-recognized contemporary artists. Finally, Flagler Auditorium is just minutes away in Bunnel and offers some of the finest performing arts in Northeast Florida.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Dining in the Palm Coast area is eclectic and often casual; come-as-you-are seafood restaurants, like J.T.?s Seafood Shack and High Tides at Snack Jacks, are very popular. There are interesting themed eateries here too: Mad Dogs in the Hammock offers a Pittsburgh-style menu and Steelers memorabilia, while High Jacker?s Restaurant gives area residents a ?South Pacific décor with a splash of aviation history?. Those looking for something more upscale can try Tavern by the Green in Ormond Beach or the Atlantic Grille at Ginn Hammock Resort.

Palm Coast residents who like to shop can visit the European Village Resort, which offers a variety of interesting shops like Arte de Palm and Coconut Island. Sisters Beach Bazaar has ladies accessories, home décor items, Jacqueline Kent collectibles, and much more. And for those who want to find everything in one spot, both Jacksonville and Orlando have large malls with big-name stores such as Borders, Dillard?s, Macy?s, Radio Shack, and Sports Authority.
