Clay County is a great place to live, a uniquely interesting place to visit, and an excellent place to start a new business. Clay County is known for its high quality of life. With a school system that consistently ranks as one of the top in the state, the beautiful St. Johns River bordering the east boundary, and historic Green Cove Springs and Keystone Heights, Clay County is a wonderful place to visit, but an even better place to live.

St. Johns County is quietly tucked behind the fragile east coast barrier islands of Florida. It is perched on the intracoastal waterway and due east of Molasses Junction. St. Augustine is America's Oldest Permanently Settled European City, a place where the past melds with the future and the past becomes reality. The line between old and new are hard to define. You can look indefinitely for skyscrapers and you will not find one. You can compare Flagler College to the new bank built last year and the difference will be non-existent. St. Augustine is where the new is old and the old is steeped in history. St. Augustine was a thriving town before most of the pilgrims and Virginia Dare were born. Don Juan Ponce de Leon christened this land, the "Feast of Flowers." The Spanish, French, English and Native American influences still occupy the area.

Clay County covers 644 square miles and has a population of around 135,000 St. Johns County has 660 square miles, with a population of around 110,000
